New Sample Pack: The Sounds of Mortima T #1 (Universe)
Posted on May 27th, 2008 4 commentsnitro2k01 has released a brand new sample pack for the glitchDS and is hinting at future glitchDS related projects:
Here’s my first sample pack for the really cool up and coming DS homebrew music/sound app DSGlitch. It’s a sequencer and sound glitcher based on John Conway’s Game of Life where each position in the grid can trigger one out of six samples.
The sound is kind of random and I like it so much that I’m planning to make a concept album with sounds processed by the program, with the corresponding sample pack to go with it. (I’m making some tight ass samples for it!)
Until then, I’m going to release a number of sample packs based on the incredibly jazzy and moody sounds of Mortimer Twang’s Amiga mods. More packs coming when I feel like it!
Thanks nitro2k01!
Please note - there’s currently a limit to the amount of sound files that you can browse in a directory. It’s something like 300. I’m working to up that to 800 and add the ability to use sub-directories.

Great, - good job. any chance that someone will share the secret of preparing samples for GlitchDS? How do I do that. I’ve about 60 GB of sounds floating around my HD that needs to be reused in a creative way. Please advice!

I found this little app: http://www.nch.com.au/switch/ called switch that converts different sound formats. I’m using Mac, and conveniently there’s a free version for Mac OSX - haven’t tried it yet, but it outputs in .raw so I guess…?

I can confirm that switch works perfectly
just had to shorten alot of file names otherwise they show up as a big blank spot when you hover over them in the menu on the sample selection screen!thanks for the info!
p.s. check out my glitchds work under music submissions.

awesome samples and track!
I looked at switch for .raw conversion, and it gives you a bunch of format options. In the format and sample rate drop-down windows, which are the correct choices for glitchds?
thanks!
